60 Icelandic startups and investors will take part in a delegation, organized by Business Iceland, to Slush, one of the largest startup and tech events held annually in Helsinki, Finland. This year's conference will take place from November 30th to December 1st and features an extensive two day main program and over 300 side events.
Representing Iceland on the main stage will be Hilmar Veigar Pétursson (CEO, CCP Games) at the "Creating Infinite Worlds — How Generative AI Will Reshape Gaming" panel discussion on Thursday, November 30th from 12:37 PM – 1:07 PM on the Horizon Stage.
Íslandsvinur, Marty Odin (Founder and CEO, Running Tide), will give the keynote speech "Climate Tech, Sink or Swim" on Thursday, November 30th from 5:14 PM – 5:31 PM on the Horizon Stage.
Taking part in an official side event, Ólafur Steinarsson, Co-founder of Esports Coaching Academy, will represent Iceland and pitch in front of expert VCs and angel investors at the Silicon Vikings New Nordics Pitch Competition Grand Final on Wednesday, November 29th from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Maria 01. Six startups from the Nordic region will compete representing their respective country to become the Grand Champion on the New Nordics. Last year, Icelandic startup Treble won the Grand Final.
Stefania Olafsdottir, CEO and Co-Founder of Avo, is organizing the side event, Avo x Slush Data Feast: Data Success Stories on Thursday, November 30th from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM at the Residence of the Ambassador of Iceland. Data experts from Avo, Bolt, and Wolt, will share their stories of building successful data cultures that mix leadership and technology and the lessons they learned.
